PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) — It’s all about who’s got swagger these days, according to defensive coordinator Dave Huxtable. After a rough start his Panthers have it again after evening their record at 2-2 with Saturday’s 55-10 drubbing of Gardner-Webb at Heinz Field.
“I talk to them about having a confident swagger, and not a stupid cockiness, and I think they are starting to get that confident swagger a little bit,” Huxtable said after practice on the South Side Tuesday. “I want them to have that. It helps bring energy, and electricity, and guys feed off of that.”
He said the players come out of the locker room with a different look in their eyes and more energy than before. He thinks this energy has helped them improve in other ways on the field.
“We are just playing more accountable. Guys are understanding the system maybe a little bit better, and guys being were they are supposed to be, and doing their jobs better, which puts them in a better position to make a tackle,” Huxtable added.
He sees improvement in guys running the ball better, playing stronger and more physical and being in the right spot at the right time:

The Panther will pick up play again next Friday at Syracuse at 7 P.M.
